Lumiaria Service October 3, 2026 at Tamaqua High Stadium 

Celebrate.  Remember.  Fight Back!  The Relay Tradition is back on track for the Anthracite Region.  Join Us for the Luminaria Service and Relay Walk.

 

The public is invited for all five hours of this action packed event, and welcome to walk the track throughout.  The Luminaria Service itslef is at 8pm.  Gates open at 5pm for registration of teams (you don't have to be on a team to walk or to donate).  Opening Ceremonies at 6pm including Survivor Lap, parade of teams and more.  At 7pm the band HATTER will perform live throughout that hour. 

You can easily order your luminaria bags right here online in honor in memory, or in support of someone you know. Recognize friends, relatives, survivors, caregivers, and deceased in this unique and meaningful way.  The Luminary Service will begin at 8pm, with additional music and speakers.  Shortly after 9pm, we'll recognize groups, teams, and individuals for all their accomplishments.  The event concludes at 10pm.

Dedicate a Luminaria
Luminarias honor every life touched by cancer. You can dedicate them to a loved one lost, someone currently battling, or anyone who’s overcome it. When you attend the event, you’ll see the Luminarias decorated with names and sometimes messages to the people they’re dedicated to.
After dark, together we will share an emotional moment when each Luminaria is lit in remembrance of a life touched by cancer. Together, we take a moment of silence to remember the loved ones they’re dedicated to. When you make a donation for a Luminaria it helps fund the American Cancer Society’s mission to help save lives.
